If you wish to explore a little further afield Carlisle is only 10 miles away where you can visit the Castle which is over 900 years old and many of the other attractions such as the Cathedral and Tullie House Museum.

A short distance away is Dumfries which is famed as being the birthplace of Robbie Burns, the town is worth a visit for its town centre and river walk.
